Unlike rubber yoga mats, TPE mats are a physical mixture of copolymers or polymers (typically plastics and rubbers) that can be recycled. They are also lighter in weight and have almost no pungent smell compared to PVC yoga mats. The TPE mat's foam-like material provides cushioning and a non-slip feel, making it better suited for barefoot exercise. However, it's not as tough as a rubber mat, so we do not recommend using it for hot yoga, as excessive sweat may cause you to slip and fall.
